Comparison of the variation in the methylation of probes in the region between +2,000 and āˆ’2,000. Probes related to the immune-inflammatory genes (nā€‰=ā€‰5422), cell cycle (nā€‰=ā€‰4538), and stably expressed genes (nā€‰=ā€‰2349). Note that the frequency of probes with decreased methylation in periodontitis was higher in genes related to the immune system process (chi-squared test, pā€‰<ā€‰2.2eā€‰āˆ’ā€‰16).
