Glycan structures integrate the activity of hundreds of genes. An example of structural variations in IgG glycans is presented. Initial GlcNAc2Man3GlcNAc2 structure (red square) can be modified by the addition of bisecting GlcNAc (GnTIII), fucose (FUT8) or galactose (GalT). These resulting structures can further be modified by the activity of the same enzymes or by the addition of the sialic acid (SiaT)
